1. Quarter of a million children vaccinated by start of school year
A quarter of a million children could be vaccinated by the time the school year starts again. Micheál Martin has said work is underway to open the vaccine portal for 12 to 15 year olds. They'll be offered mRNA vaccines - either Pfizer or Moderna. Taoiseach Micheál Martin estimated quarter of a million students could be offered the vaccine by the end of next month.

3. Dungarvan residents concerned over proposed housing estate
The prospect of an extra 218 houses being built along a busy area in Dungarvan is causing concern among locals. They're being proposed for development in Duckspool, which is right across from two schools on a secondary road to the N25. Local resident, Alan, told Deise Today that the extra volume of cars would cause significant issues.
4. New mental health unit at UHW announced
The Minister of State for Mental Health says plans for a new unit at University Hospital Waterford will include a full suite of supports. Mary Butler announced today that plans for a new greenfield site is set to be included in the government's capital plan for 2021. It will include a 50-bed unit which is set to replace the current Department of psychiatry at the hospital. Deputy Butler says increasing capacity is important.
5. Capacity at All Ireland Final to be increased
Taoiseach Michael Martin said earlier today that it's likely the restrictions on crowds will be further eased for the All-Ireland championship semi-finals. Waterford take on Tipperary in the quarter finals this Saturday and, should they overcome the Premier county, they would face either Limerick or Kilkenny in the semifinals.
6. Filming starts in Cork of adaptation of Graham Norton book
The best of Irish talent, including Brenda Fricker (My Left Foot), Conleth Hill (Game of Thrones), Charlene McKenna (Raw, Pure Mule), Pauline McLynn (Father Ted) and Siobhán McSweeney (Derry Girls) are in West Cork as filming has started on the movie adaptation of Graham Norton's Holding. Set in the fictional Cork town of Duneen it centres on Sergeant PJ Collins (Hill) a gentle local garda who has to investigate the murder of a local legend.
