1.Government expected to lift restrictions on Communions next month.
Several Government Ministers are to push for the resumption of First Communions and Confirmations under Covid-19 guidelines. The move comes as controversy continues over a perceived inconsistency in the public health guidelines surrounding gatherings.A planned restart date of September has been indicated by sources, but any change is likely to require full Cabinet approval.
2. Parties up to 200 and live music outdoors under new hospitality guidelines
Outdoor events with gatherings of up to 200 people, along with live music and other performances, are permitted under updated Covid-19 guidelines for the hospitality sector. The updated Fáilte Ireland guidelines for outdoor events come after the Government said certain open-air events with up to 200 people are permitted, under advice from the Attorney General.
3. Walk-in vaccination centre at WIT Arena to operate this weekend
Walk-in Covid vaccination centres for people aged over 16 will operate across the country this weekend. More than 30,000 people attended last weekend's walk-in clinics, which were held for the first time. 900 people in Waterford availed of the clinic last weekend and the centre at the WIT Arena will open from 12.30 to 4.30 on Saturday and Sunday.
4. 23 Waterford clubs to share in grants worth €280 thousand
€16.6 million has been announced by the Government in equipment grants under the latest round of the Sports Capital and Equipment Programme (SCEP). In Co Waterford, 23 clubs will benefit from an allocation of €281,318. This is the equipment portion and the capital grants will be announced later in the year.

Former Tipperary goalkeeper Brendan Cummins fears that four weeks in a row may be a bridge too far for Waterford in tomorrow's All Ireland semi final against Limerick. The five time All Star says that it's a gruelling schedule for Liam Cahill's side: "Looking at it coldly, it has to be a concern. I think it's grossly unfair that Waterford have to play four weekends in a row." Waterford take on Limerick at Croke Park tomorrow with a 5pm throw in. 6. Spraoi returns - with a difference
Waterford's most loved festival Spraoi returns this year, but with a difference as the festival is divided into three part, City Spraoi, Greenway Spraoi and Prism Spraoi.
