The annual four day racing festival at Tramore racecourse is underway with a packed programme of events over the coming days.

The big race on tonight's (Thursday) card is the Flynn Hotel Handicap Hurlde worth 30,000 euro.

Tomorrow then is BBQ evening, Saturday is Style evening while Sunday will be a family fun afternoon where there'll also be multiple screens to watch the All-Ireland hurling Final between Kilkenny and Tipperary.

Its the first year under new racecourse manager Owen Byrne who says that the festival is always well supported by the locals:

"The new bar, Inside Tracks, is completely refurbished now and that is all set up. There is a lot more space, a lot more public space, a lot more nice public areas, and the food offerings are excellent so its looking really good."
