Tesco Ireland are reportedly seeking to construct a store in Dungarvan.
A planning application was submitted to Waterford Council this week for a Dungarvan town centre site, the former Glanbia site on Richard A. Walsh Street.
The proposed development would be across a 1.49-hectare area, comprising a 2-story anchor convenience and comparison retail store and a cafe.
Plans are also in place for a 165-space car park which would also contain bicycle bays.
There would also be a change of existing site access to allow for a new vehicular entrance for customers and delivery services.
The proposed development also includes the provision of an ESB substation, and all associated site works.
Tesco has five stores in Waterford at present - in Ballybeg, Poleberry, Ballycarnane, Lisduggan, and Ardkeen - while they also recently opened a store in Ferrybank.
Previous attempts for planning permission had been submitted in September 2022.
