The annual Tallow Horse Fair gets under way this morning.
The event, now spanning over 250 years, is one of Ireland's oldest horse fairs drawing people from across the country and beyond.
With so many visitors coming to the town, traffic diversions are in place.
Sergeant Ken O'Donovan stated that Tallow will be closed from 8am to 6pm today to facilitate the Annual Horse Fair with diversions in place and signs all around Tallow and East Cork directing visitors to different locations.
The Local Link bus to Tallow will not be operating today with full details to be found on their website.
Sergeant O'Donovan told WLR they hope to have the town back open by 6pm.
