Following back-and-forth arguments in the Dáil yesterday over speaking time for Independents, Michael Martin was officially appointed Taoiseach this afternoon.
Waterford TD Mary Butler was also confirmed as the government's new Chief Whip.
She will also have special responsibilities for Mental Health at the cabinet table, however, she will not have the power to vote.
Deputy David Cullinane, Sinn Féin TD for Waterford took to social media voicing his disappointment that Waterford remains without a full minister.
"I wish Mary Butler well in her new role as Chief Whip. However, it is disappointing that Waterford will not have a full Minister with James Browne from Wexford fulfilling that role.
"Conor McGuinness and I will exert maximum pressure on the Government to deliver on funding for the Airport in Waterford, 24/7 cardiac care, upgrading the N24 and N25, investment in Waterford Port, and dealing with the crises in health, housing,g and the cost of living."
