A special plenary meeting of Waterford Council will take place this afternoon.
It will take place online for the Plenary council to attend.
It was called for last week by the Sinn Féin members, who want to discuss what they feel will be the escalation of the housing crisis once the eviction ban ends at the weekend.
The councillors say Waterford is already in the grips of an unprecedented housing crisis and that efforts to increase supply have fallen far short of what is required.
They are hoping to use this afternoon's meeting to seek immediate action from the government to address the causes of the crisis.
