Singer Sinead O'Connor dies aged 56

Renowned Irish singer Sinead O'Connor has died aged 56.

The acclaimed performer released 10 studio albums during a glittering career. Her song 'Nothing Compares 2 U' was named the number one world single in 1990 by the Billboard Music Awards.

As a teenager, Sinéad enrolled in Newtown Secondary School in Waterford, where she credits Mr. Joe Falvey for encouraging her music career at 16 and making it possible for her to pursue her dreams.
