Search operation stood down in Lismore

A search operation in Lismore this evening has been stood down, after the woman in question was located safe and well.

The Rescue 117 search helicopter had been seen circling an area just east of the local bridge.

Emergency services were alerted to the incident on the River Blackwater at 6.45pm this evening.
The woman involved had reportedly entered the water.
Gardaí, several units of the Fire Service, The Irish Coastguard and the R117 helicopter were called out in response.
The search was subsequently stood down at around 8pm after the woman was located safe and well close to the area.
Rescue 117 has since returned to base.
