A large multi-agency group were tasked last night in response to a search for a missing elderly lady who was reported missing from her home in Dunmore East.
The Coast Guard was requested to assist local Gardai at 5.30 pm on Wednesday evening as part of a search for the woman, who had left her home in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
The Dunmore East Coast Guard Unit, Rescue 117, the SARDA K-9 Unit, South East Mountain Rescue and Garda search teams conducted a thorough search.
She was subsequently located and treated on-site by medics and handed over to the care of HSE paramedics.
The operation was stood down at 10pm and all who took part were thanked for their assistance.
