An agreement has been made in principle to sell an historic plot of land on Gallweys Hill in Tramore.
This comes following the Council's unsuccessful attempt to purchase the land late last year.
The site has been purchased, as confirmed before lunchtime Friday March 15, by local businessman Seamus Walsh.
The site had come under intense public scrutiny in recent times, with calls to make the site a community amenity.
The Council confirmed last November that they had engaged with the vendor.
Officials stated at a recent meeting that their financial offer was turned down by the vendor.
The site was listed for €250,000 and according to the joint selling-agent, Barry Herterich, is no longer on the market.
The site has a varied history with planning applications attracting significant volumes of submissions from the public.
