The re-opening of a West Waterford library has been described as "a very complicated project".
An update on works at Cappoquin Library was sought this week by Labour Councillor John Pratt at the Dungarvan/Lismore District meeting of Waterford Council.
It has been closed since early 2023 due to repair works.
Cllr Pratt described the issue as "a bee in all our bonnets"
"Is it opening or not?" he asked. "It's shocking".
In response, Meeting Administrator Honor Dunphy confirmed construction works have been completed and the building is now handed over to the Library Service who are fitting it out.
Internet connectivity is being completed and it's hoped it will be open in the next couple of weeks.
However, Ms Dunphy acknowledged this response had been issued "on a number of occasions".
"It's been a very complicated project and a lot of issues have arisen during the process," she added.
