A peaceful rally and vigil in support of the people of Ukraine will take place in Waterford City today.
The event gets underway at 12 noon, outside City Hall.
This one has been organised by Mayor of Waterford City and County, Joe Kelly, who says we need to show that we are "united in our condemnation of the unjust and abhorrent invasion of a sovereign state by Russia."
He's told WLR News, "I'm asking and calling on everybody within Waterford - and the surrounding areas, because there is a match between Waterford and Tipperary in hurling on at 2pm, so many Tipperary people may even come along.
"We're asking people to come and attend the rally. You're seeing on the news reports, day and night, the increased devastation in Ukraine, the absolute slaugther of innocent people by the Russians and we have to stand up."
There are around 50 Ukrainian nationals living in Waterford City at the moment and a couple of them will be speaking at today's rally.
Meanwhile, a bucket collection in aid of Ukraine will also be carried out at today's game in Walsh Park, which gets underway from 1.45pm.
