Rainbow Records in Waterford to close

Well known local store Rainbow Records in Waterford will close its doors permanently later this month.

In a statement on Facebook, the managers of the shop on Michael Street in the city thanked "customers and friends throughout the years."

Rainbow Records offers a buy, sell and exchange service, and houses a vast selection of new and used CDs, DVDs, LPs & 12"singles.

The shop has attracted customers from all over the South East region and beyond, being a part of the resurgence in popularity of vinyl in recent years.

The news of the upcoming closure of Rainbow Records comes as The Parlour Vintage Tea Rooms on Great George's Street in Waterford City is also about to permanently shut its doors.

The last event at the venue will be the display of a Vicky Phelan portrait on International Women's Day, at which time items from the Tea Rooms will be auctioned off for Vicky's chosen charities. More here.
