A public bike-sharing scheme is set to come on onstream in Waterford in June.
220 TFI (Transport for Ireland) bikes will be spread across the city.
They'll be available at 14 different stations, including UHW, SETU, Arundel Square, The People's Park, The Kingfisher Gym and The Mall.
Waterford is the fourth location in which the bikes will be situated, they're already in place in Dublin, Cork and Limerick.
A group of people met and tested the bikes during the week, meeting on The Mall and cycling out to the Nature Park in Kilbarry.
Fine Gael Cllr in Waterford Frank Quinlan accompanied the cyclists, and was impressed with the quality of the bikes:
"They're strong, they're sturdy, there's not changing of gears, you just twist the handle, they have a basket if you want to do a bit of shopping," he said.
From this week, people can register their interest online here, and avail of the service for a year for free.
