The proposed Dungarvan to Mallow Greenway extension reared its head once again during this month's Dungarvan Lismore district meeting of Waterford City and County Council.
The contentious project has been championed by Labour Councillor John Pratt who raised the matter during January's meeting.
"It seems to have gone off the radar and some people might be happy that it is, but I'm going to keep it somewhat live," Cllr Pratt said.
The Tallow based representative sought an update from the Council on the proposition and whether it was still being considered.
"Is the extension of the Greenway finished? Is it going to come back? Or where is it at? It would just be nice to get an update."
Senior Executive Engineer for Economic Development at Waterford Council, Conor O'Neill explained that Transport Infrastructure Ireland are determining what to do.
"The Dungarvan to Mallow Greenway is not completely gone away," he said.
"It's being reviewed and looked at by another consultant. The report is with TII to see whether they want to split it up into smaller projects, look at individual areas, or what way they want to tackle it in the future."
The Senior Executive Engineer relayed that he would provide an update once the report is ready.
