A private funeral service will be held for the late Gillian Curran, who died tragically last weekend.

Tramore native Gillian (47) was found unresponsive by Gardaí on Saturday last when they responded to an incident on O'Brien Street, Waterford City.

She was later pronounced dead and 34-year-old Marcus O'Neill of O'Brien Street, Waterford has been remanded in custody after being charged with her murder. 

Gillian's death notice reads that she was "predeceased by her beloved father Michael" and is "deeply mourned by her loving and much loved mother Mary, Gillian will be sadly missed by her sisters Clodagh, Jenny, Tara, Erika and brother Michael and their families. She will be fondly remembered by her godfather Fr. Roddy Curran, her uncles, aunts, cousins, extended family and friends."

Gillian's death notice adds that donations can be made in her memory to Women's Aid or The BRILL Family Resource Centre, Waterford.
