A planning application has been submitted to Waterford City and County Council seeking permission to develop apartments in Kilmacthomas.

The application from Abbeyside Developments Ltd. seeks a change of use of a retail unit to residential use and renovation to provide 5 one-bed apartments.

The building is located in what's described as an Architectural Conservation Area on Main Street and St Anne's Terrace in the village.

The application includes renovation to the existing facade along with waste management area, bicycle storage area, reconnection to public sewer and all drainage and ancillary works.

Submissions on the application can be made until February 13th, with a decision due by March 6th.
