An inquest into the death of a Waterford man has heard there is insufficient evidence to establish a causal link between a catastrophic brain bleed and the Johnson and Johnson Covid vaccine.
23-year-old Roy Butler died 5 days after he got the vaccine. Roy Butler from O’Reilly Road in Waterford died on the 17th of August 2021.
He got the vaccine 5 days previously as he had hoped to travel to Dubai.
Yesterday an inquest at Cork Coroners Court heard that Roy was taken to Cork University Hospital after he suffered convulsions at home and he later died.
Today the court heard that Johnson and Johnson received 60 reports of intercranial bleeds globally – including that of Roy Butler.
Speaking in court today, Dr Luis Anyaya-Velarde, Safety Officer at Johnson and Johnson said that having completed the study, there wasn’t enough evidence to determine a link between the vaccine and intracranial bleeds.
