Update, 10.15am: Lombard Street has reopened to traffic
A man has been seriously injured after a collision in Waterford City last night.
A pedestrian was hit by a car on Lombard Street at about 9.15pm.

They were taken to University Hospital Waterford with serious injuries, where they remain today.
The road was closed overnight and for a time this morning so that a technical examination could take place.
Gardaí have told WLR News that their inquiries into what happened are ongoing.
