The brother of a woman missing almost 28 years in Waterford is appealing once again for information.
22-year-old Imelda Keenan went missing from her flat on William Street in Waterford City on the 3rd of January, 1994.
Her brother Gerry says he knows there are people out there who know what happened to her.
And speaking on this morning's Saturday Café, he said the family simply needs closure:
"My heart is still broken. We'll never get over it. Our pain continues and it's just like as if she went missing just last week.
"... I'd be delighted if she told us that she packed her bags and went away and got away from the family - didn't want to know us. But look, Imelda was just a young country girl coming down to Waterford to start her new life.
"She didn't even know Waterford very well... I think deep down that Imelda could have been harmed and that's a very hard thing to say."
Imelda was originally from Mountmellick in Co Laois but had moved down to Waterford, following in the footsteps of her big brother, Gerry.
He said she was always a home-bird and was in regular contact with their mother back at home.
Gerry says that without knowing where his little sister is and what happened to her, he'll never get over her disappearance:
"To think that I brought Imelda down and I got her going to school here for the last year of her education... And then to find myself in turmoil because all of a sudden she went missing.
"Deep down at the end of the day, I always blame myself. I probably shouldn't. What kind of a man would I be now? I don't really know.
"But I cannot let this go. I just can't.
"Someone in Waterford - I think there's two or three people here in Waterford - deep down, who are holding back vital information to the Keenan family."
