Metalman Brewing, based out of Waterford since 2011, has announced that Hopfully Brewing will take over the production of beer at the company.

In a statement on Metalman Brewing's Facebook page, owners Gráinne and Tim said "the last eleven years have been a whirlwind of activity, of growing and learning, highs and lows, meeting new people, forging new friendships and discovering amazing beers."

The statement went on to say that Hopfully brewing, together with the existing Metalman Brewing staff, will continue to produce beer in Waterford City.

While some Metalman beers will remain on shop shelves in the short term, the product as we know it will be phased out for now, with the owners saying they're "not entirely sure what will happen next but you won't see Metalman beers around for a bit."

Gráinne and Tim signed out by thanking "everyone for all your support these last years - Metalman would have been nothing without all you amazing beer drinkers, bar owners, retailers, current and former staff, suppliers, advisors, fellow brewers and friends."

The team at Metalman have been very active over the years in the wider craft beer community. In August, Gráinne Walsh told WLR's business programme The Hot Desk about a new initiative to help craft brewers promote themselves.
