Mary Butler selected to contest General Election in Waterford for Fianna Fáil

Minister for Mental Health and Older People Mary Butler has been selected to contest the next General Election for Fianna Fáil in Waterford.

The Waterford selection convention for the party was held at Lawlor’s Hotel in Dungarvan tonight.

Councillor Adam Wyse also contested the convention.

There was a valid vote among members of 170, with a quota of 86.

Minister Butler exceeded the quota at 135, while Cllr Wyse received 35 votes.

The convention was chaired by MEP Billy Kelleher.
