Fianna Fail TD Mary Butler has been re-elected to serve Waterford in the 34th Dail.
Deputy Butler received 9,962 first preference votes and reached the quota of 10,731 on the 10th count.
The Portlaw native was first elected to the Dail in 2016, and regained her seat in 2020 - going on to become Minister of State for Mental Health & Older People.
She was the first ever female Minister of State to come from County Waterford.
Speaking to WLR, Butler said: "I'm absolutely delighted - I'm really really happy because every single vote is hard won. We ran a great campaign - a pure grassroots campaign, the Fianna Fail way - out knocking on doors, going to events and talking to as many people as possible. People did want to engage and we pressed the flesh. I'm really pleased to have got the most votes in the Portlaw-Kilmacthomas Comeragh area - where I am from. I also took around 31% of the vote in the Tallow, Lismore, Cappoquin areas as well. I'm delighted."
