A man in his 70s who was struck by an SUV in Kinsalebeg on Thursday morning has died in hospital as a result of his injuries.
He has been named locally as 79-year-old Noel Hogan.
The Irish Examiner report that Mr. Hogan sustained significant head injuries as a result of the accident and was airlifted to Cork University Hospital.
Mr. Hogan has been remembered as a kind and valued member of the community, who moved to Kinsalebeg from Youghal a number of years ago.
He volunteered much of his time with the local St. Vincent De Paul branch, and tributes have flooded in on social media since his passing.
