One man was arrested after setting a vehicle on fire in a housing estate in Waterford City this morning.
Two units of Waterford City Fire Service are still at the scene after being called to Farran Park housing estate numerous times over night to bring bonfires under control.
Around 7.30 this morning a van was set alight. Emergency services were called and and shortly afterwards Gardai arrested one man.
He was taken to Waterford garda station for questioning.
A local resident claimed one family had been engaged in anti social behaviour all night.
He said Gardai had to chase the man who was arrested around the Fire engines before he was taken into custody.
The resident said he could not speak openly about the incident because, " it would be more hell on earth to try live here".
