In both cases, rocks were thrown through the windows, with one resulting in a toilet being broken and the clubhouse flooded.

The following weekend, more rocks were thrown, until all the windows in the front of the building were broken, amounting to thousands of euro worth of damage.

A second appeal for information was issued by Gardaí and Chairman of Lismore GAA Club, Colin Kearney also spoke to WLR News, detailing the damage.

Sergeant Ken O'Donovan said has told WLR News, "Gardaí attached to Lismore, Cappoquin, and Tallow Garda Stations set up a surveillance operation at Lismore GAA Club over the last number of nights.

"... A male was arrested for criminal damage and conveyed to Dungarvan Garda Station.

"This male was later charged with 11 separate criminal damage incidents in the town of Lismore, dating back to December of last year.

"He appeared in Waterford District Court [on Friday morning], and a file is now being prepared for the DPP."

Continuing, Sergeant O'Donovan, who is based in Dungarvan, outlined the other places to have been targeted for this vandalism:

"There was also the soccer club, which had two criminal damage incidents. The community hall had one and there was another separate house under construction outside there as well that was a victim of criminal damage."

Lismore GAA Club have asked WLR to convey their thanks to the Gardaí for their assistance in this matter and to the wider community for their support too.
