A man in his 20s remains in Garda custody this morning in connection with a large drugs seizure at Rosslare Europort.
268 thousand euros worth of suspected herbal cannabis was discovered when a freight unit came off a ferry from Dunkirk in France.
The arrested man is being questioned at a Garda Station in Wexford in connection with the 13 point 4 kilo seizure.
Separately, two men were arrested on board a cargo vessel at anchor in the Shannon Estuary today, 18th January 2025.
The men, aged in their 30s and 40s, were arrested on suspicion of committing a criminal offense contrary to Section 72 of the Criminal Justice Act 2006, facilitating/enhancing a criminal organisation to commit a serious offense.
The two men are currently detained under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act 2007 at Garda stations in Co. Clare.
Investigations are ongoing.
