The placement of vape shops in Tramore has been questioned. Local Councillor Joe Conway, raised the matter at a recent Metropolitan meeting of Waterford Council.
He questioned why a vape shop is located at a new plaza area on main street.
"In Tramore we spent so much money on our public realm, and right smack bang in the middle of it we have a vape shop.
"I'm just wondering how does that tie in with harmonious planning and development in the middle of such a lovely part of the town."
Tramore’s town centre was transformed into a vibrant and connected hub, following an investment of approximately €5m from the Urban Regeneration Development Fund (URDF), Waterford City and County Council, and Uisce Éireann.
In response, a council official addressed Cllr. Conway's concerns saying the matter will be discussed in due course.
