Gardai in Lismore are conducting investigations following two acts of vandalism at the local GAA club over the course of the four-day St. Patrick's bank holiday weekend.
A number of windows were broken at the grounds of Lismore GAA Club on the evening of Friday, March 18th - with a similar incident occurring on the following night, where further windows were broken, with significant damage also caused to the window frames.
In a statement on social media, the Lismore GAA Club Committee have condemned the acts as a 'cowardly' and 'senseless' act of vandalism.
"Unfortunately, we have had two acts of vandalism on our premises over Friday and Saturday night. Windows have been broken in both our clubhouse and the GAA Community Centre. Both incidents are now being investigated by the Gardai. If anyone has seen or has any information on these incidents, please contact the Gardai in Lismore / Dungarvan, or a member of our GAA committee. We take great pride in our facilities and have invested substantially in our facilities over the last number of years. We much prefer to continue this investment for the boys and girls of our community rather than replacing windows broken by vandals."
Gardai are investigating both incidents and have appealed for anyone with information to please come forward and contact Dungarvan Garda Station on (058) 48600.
