The end of an era has been marked at a popular Mid-County Waterford pub which has changed ownership.
Dunphy's Bar has been run by the Dunphy family for decades and has served as a much loved focal point within the local community, hosting events of all descriptions.
Paudie Dunphy has now retired and new owners are set to take up the reins of the well-known establishment.
In a post online, Paudie said: "Coming out the doors of the pub for the last time, so many memories came flooding back from the past 36 happy years spent here. From the locals who came in for a pint and a chat to the many clubs and and organisations who celebrated events with us it was a pleasure serving every one of you. We had many great events over the years, GAA nights, music, darts, and quiz nights, book launches, medal presentations, match celebrations, and our own Dunphy's Variety Shows that rocked the house with fun and laughter on a regular basis."
Paudie and Marina paid tribute to all the staff who worked at the pub over the years as well as the many bands which performed and all of the local groups which supported the venue.
"We wish all the best to the new owners, Glen and his family, and hope they have many happy years in Kill," added Paudie.
"And as this chapter closes I would like to sincerely say thanks again for all the great support over the years, thanks for all the great times, and for all the great memories that will last forever."
