A Kilmacthomas volunteer has been named as a recipient of a National Ambulance Service (NAS) Community Volunteer Award.
Siobhan McCormack is a founding member of Kilmacthomas Community First Responders, established in 2012.
She has been described as "an exemplary instructor and first responder" who "truly embodies the qualities of a dedicated and outstanding volunteer".
Speaking to WLR News after receiving her award, Siobhan said: "I was overwhelmed and completely blown away, I had no idea I had won the award. I'm very grateful for the honour. I'm very proud to accept it, not only for myself but for the Kilmacthomas group and all of the Community First Responder volunteers throughout the country."
Siobhan said there is a huge sense of satisfaction from being a volunteer with the group.

"When someone makes a 999 call, they're in trouble and need someone to help them," she said. "It's satisfying to be able to go out and help people in their hour of need."
Siobhan also volunteers as an instructor and has helped establish other CFR groups in County Waterford. She is also an active member with Waterford Civil Defence as an EMT and First Aid Response Instructor.
Jonathan Lynch, NAS Community Engagement Officer, has praised Siobhan's efforts, stating: "Siobhan is an incredible volunteer; she epitomises what a volunteer is, and we are delighted she supports NAS on a daily basis in her local community and this award is just a small token of appreciation for her years of hard work."
