Julian Benson Cystic Fibrosis Foundation - Donate As You Renovate!

The Julian Benson Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Donate As You Renovate Trades and Suppliers Open Day happens at Masonry Building, Iconic Offices, Dublin 8 on 23rd February from 10 am – 3.30pm. Offer your company’s services and trades for a 10-day building blitz on the charity’s Tranquility House.

Dreaming Big, Doing More!

For the 1,200 people living with Cystic Fibrosis in Ireland, extended stays in hospital are commonplace and can mean their support network is doing a roundtrip, daily commute from all over Ireland or facing mounting hotel bills. Add this financial headache to the worry of having a loved one in hospital, it can make an already stressful time even worse.  This is about to change with the help of the Julian Benson Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Keeping with their ethos of ‘dreaming big, doing more’, the charity plans to open Tranquility House in Rathgar by the end of summer, a short drive from the national referral hospital for Cystic Fibrosis, St Vincent’s.

This Georgian house is set to be transformed into four separate apartments, families can stay free of charge whilst their loved one is receiving treatment in hospital. Already, companies including Murphy Group, Chadwick’s, Roadstone and NorDan are on board.

The charity is aiming to open the doors to Tranquility House is 1st August 2024.

With this ambitious opening date, the Julian Benson Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is making a national appeal to all trades and services companies. The call-out comes in the form of donating skills, time, materials and services over a 10-day blitz in April. The Irish business community and general public have been so supportive over the past number of years and this is the final push – without help from trades and service companies we cannot make this happen.

Any trades and services companies who can donate their time, money or services can register to help by attending the JBCFF trades day, which will be held in The Masonry Building, Iconic Offices, 151 Thomas Street, Dublin 8 on Friday 23rd February, 10 am-3.30 pm. The trades and suppliers open day and the ten-day building blitz will be filmed as part of a Room To Improve special, with Dermot Bannon leading the renovation design. Dermot, his team along with Murphy Group, Chadwick’s, Roadstone and NorDan will be there on the day. Joining them will be Peter Donegan landscape architect Gold Winner at the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show 2023. Peter will be designing the gardens of Tranquility House.

This will be an opportunity to offer any support, service or trade to the build from carpenters, plasterers and tilers to landscapers and security companies. There will be allocated time slots for each trade with a full schedule on jbcff.com.
