The hospitality sector in Ireland is to stage a nationwide Day of Action in response to Budget 2025.
Huge concerns have been expressed by those in the industry over the government's failure to reduce the VAT rate from 13.5 to nine per cent.
Now, the Restaurants Association of Ireland has confirmed a Day of Action will take place on Tuesday, October 15th to highlight what they describe as a "sector in crisis".
This will involve those in the sector assembling at 1pm at Pepper Canister Church, Mount Street, Dublin before a march and protest between 2 and 4pm outside Leinster House.
WLR News understands representatives from Waterford will participate.
In a statement, the RAI said: "Budget 2025 did not deliver the VAT of nine per cent for the food-led hospitality sector. With a General Election on the horizon, we must let elected representatives and candidates know how we feel."
All food-led hospitality business owners and staff are being invited to attend.
