Historical naming convention for developers proposed

Historical naming convention for developers proposed

A local Councillor has called on Waterford City and County Council to provide a list of potential names to be used by developers for future housing estates.

Fianna Fáil's Eamon Quinlan made the suggestion at the most recent plenary meeting of the Council.

He claims it will be a way to pay homage to those from Waterford and Irish history yet to receive recognition.

The Tramore and Waterford City West Cllr suggested a list of twelve to fifteen names from Waterford or Ireland.

"People down through the years gave a lot of service to the people of Ireland and Waterford," Cllr Quinlan said.
