Gardaí in Waterford responded to a call on Wednesday evening, 5th June, 2024 in relation to a child found unresponsive in her home in the Dungarvan area of Co. Waterford.
The child was conveyed by ambulance to University Hospital Waterford where she was later pronounced deceased.
It's understood that the child was aged two.
A file will be prepared for the Coroner's Court.

A Family Liaison Officer (FLO) has been appointed to provide support and assistance to the family of the deceased at this time.
An Garda Síochána have confirmed to WLR news that they are treating this incident as a tragic accident.
