Gardaí at Waterford Crime Unit are investigating a burglary at Estuary Woods in Ferrybank which occurred on New Year's Day.
The incident happened at 4.50pm when a woman was awoken by kicking on her locked bedroom door which was then forced open.
She observed three men in dark clothing who then fled on seeing her. She called Gardaí who responded but the intruders had left the scene.
In a statement to WLR News, An Garda Siochana said: "This was a terrifying ordeal for this woman and we are seeking the assistance of anyone who was in this area on New Year’s Day. Did you see these three males in the area at the time or any suspicious vehicles? Any detail may assist the investigation. Of particular interest are any items that may have been discarded, specifically a green wallet/purse which was taken from the house."
