Galway hammered Westmeath 5-34 to 1-16 in Mullingar this afternoon to kick of their Allianz League campaign.

Conor Cooney, Conor Whelan, Niall Burke, Jarleth Mannion and Brian Concannon all got on the scoresheet for the Tribesmen.

Meanwhile, Kilkenny lead Dublin 6 points to 4 in the first-half of their Division One Allianz National Hurling League game at Parnell Park.
