An accident blackspot in County Waterford was the topic of discussion yet again at a local district meeting.
The Carrick Road roundabout at Kilmeaden was raised at this month's Comeragh meeting of Waterford City and County Council.
Senior Roads Engineer with Waterford Council, Gabriel Hynes says that works were due to have been completed in 2024.
"In the meeting that I was at in relation to TII, the roundabout was raised and we got an understanding it would have been completed in 2024. We're still awaiting that TII have committed to completing that," he said.
During the meeting it was also stated that the roundabout is not under the control of Waterford Council.
"The difficulty is that the roundabout is a part of the PPP project that has been handed over to the CRG group who are responsible for it until 2035. We as a local authority aren't in charge of that."
"We're not a statutory authority, we are for the rest of our national primary network, but for anything that's a PPP project it's handed over to the CRG group."
He says administration of the roundabout is changing hands and works are due to take place.
"I know TII have given them an instruction to carry out certain works there and that's currently being progressed with TII and the CRG group."
