Roadworks at Farronshoneen are due to conclude on Thursday, as confirmed by Waterford City & Council at last night's meeting of the Waterford City & County Metropolitan District.
Independent councillor, David Daniels requested an update on the ongoing works, which have been the result of significant traffic delays owing to a one-lane traffic management system in place.
In response to Cllr. Daniels, engineer with Waterford Council, Michael Murphy confirmed that the works as they currently stand will conclude this coming Thursday, December 21.
Mr. Murphy added that while the traffic management system currently in place will end this Thursday, some finishing works will take place in January.
It was confirmed that resurfacing will need to take place in January, however assurances were given that these works are scheduled to take place at night with no significant impact on traffic expected.
