€50,000 granted towards local fundraising group

A local group in West Waterford have received €50,000 for an Emergency services vehicle.

West Waterford Rapid Response Vehicle Group has received significant funding.

The group have been allocated 50,000 Euro under CLAR Measure 2 otherwise known as Funding for Small-Scale Rural Projects.

The West Waterford Rapid Response Vehicle Group aims to enhance emergency services, ensuring advanced A+E emergency pre-hospital care is swiftly delivered throughout a 100 square mile area.

Waterford Senator John Cummins outlined what the money will be used for.

"The funding will complement the huge fundraising drive that the group has undertaken in recent months and it'll be used to purchase and kit out the rapid response vehicle which will provide an essential service to West Waterford. I want to compliment the entire group for their drive and determination to make this project happen."

"I know it'll be put to really good use in purchasing and kitting out the vehicle which will provide an essential service in times of medical emergencies to the people of West Waterford," he said.
