A man in his late teens has been arrested having brought an offensive weapon into a retail setting in Dungarvan earlier this afternoon.
The incident took place at a store in the Dungarvan Shopping Centre.
Gardaí have confirmed to WLR that the teenager was arrested for possession of the weapon, and he was subsequently brought to Dungarvan Garda Station.
He is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
