Dungarvan: O'Riordan in as status quo stays firm

Five of the six sitting councillors in the Dungarvan Local Electoral area were re-elected, as the status quo held firm in West Waterford.

Fine Gael's Damien Geoghegan once again topped the polls, while Sinn Fein's Conor McGuinness was also elected on the first count.

The Fianna Fail vote was as strong as ever as Tom Cronin retained his seat, while Fine Gael ensured they would hold their two seats upon the re-election of Pat Nugent.

Thomas Phelan retained his seat for the Labour Party - while the main shake-up occurred late on as Independent Candidate Joe O'Riordan laid claim to the last seat, which had been held for a number of years by Independent Councillor, Seamus O'Donnell.
