Football legend Diego Maradona has died according to reports in his native Argentina.
Maradona is understood to have suffered a heart attack in his home two weeks after leaving hospital where underwent surgery on a blood clot on his brain.
Maradona, who was 60 years old, is one of the greatest footballers of all time. He captained Argentina to the 1986 World Cup, making a number of superb individual performances during the tournament in Mexico.
He scored over 300 goals in an illustrious career that saw him turn out for the likes of Boca Juniors, Barcelona, Napoli and Sevilla.
Maradona also helped Argentina reach the final of the 1990 World Cup, where they lost 1-0 to West Germany.
He managed the country at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
Tributes are already pouring in for Maradona following the sad news.
The AFA said on Twitter: “The Argentine Football Association, through its president Claudio Tapia, expresses its deepest sorrow for the death of our legend, Diego Armando Maradona. You will always be in our hearts.”
