Dawn Meats continue to build on their product pedigree with another strong showing in the internationally recognised Great Taste awards.

Along with being shortlisted for a prestigious Golden Fork trophy, Dawn Meats added to their collection of 3-star products with the West of Ireland Lamb Rack. This brings the number of stars Dawn Meats has received in the last 10 years to 155, more than any other Irish meat processor.

The West of Ireland Lamb Rack is the 11th product from Dawn Meats to receive 3-stars in the last 10 years. Dawn Meats’ supply chain in the West of Ireland has seen considerable success over the years, with the Vintage Reserve West of Ireland Dry Aged Tomahawk Steak and the West of Ireland 50 day dry aged French Trimmed Rib of Beef also receiving 3 stars in 2020 and 2018 respectively.

“To be Ireland’s most successful meat processor at the Great Taste awards is testament to the incredible quality which comes from our primary producers, as well as the work done by the team at Dawn Meats,” Niall Browne, CEO of Dawn Meats, said.

2022 has been a successful year for Dawn Meats and their UK Division Dunbia with further successes in the Irish Quality Food Awards, Meat Management Awards, Quality Food Awards and Christmas Quality Food Awards.

This follows an equally impressive 2021 which saw Dawn Meats named as the Best Sustainable Meat Producer at the Green Food and Beverage Producer Awards.

The company also picked up a number of gongs at the World Steak Challenge held in Dublin last October.

The 2022 Great Taste awards, dubbed the Oscars of the food and drink industry, saw a record 14,205 entries of which just 39% received 1-, 2-, or 3-star ratings reflecting the high level of competition.
