Damien Duff has announced his decision to step down from his role as coach of the Republic of Ireland's senior men's soccer team.
In a statement from the FAI on Friday evening, Duff thanked manager Stephen Kenny for the opportunity, wishing him and the squad "all the very best of luck for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers".

The 41-year-old took up his position in August alongside Kenny and fellow former Ireland international Keith Andrews, leaving his role as coach with Celtic.
In the statement, Kenny said: "Damien is an excellent coach as he proved in his time with us and his contribution to the Irish team was greatly appreciated by myself, my staff and the players and I wish him the very best of luck for the future."
