Daffodil Day 2024 launched in Waterford

Waterford has held its Daffodil Day 2024 launch.

The annual fundraiser for the Irish Cancer Society takes place on Friday March 22nd nationwide.

A local launch was held at The Holy Cross Bar, Butlerstown last week.

Chair of Waterford Daffodil Day committee Des Daunt says volunteers will be present at many of the usual street collection locations across the city and county.

Averil Power, CEO of the Irish Cancer Society, said: “There is not a family in Ireland that hasn’t been affected by cancer and we at the Irish Cancer Society are determined to do everything we can to ensure that everyone affected by the disease has access to world-class treatment, care, and support.  Our essential work is powered by fundraising, and we cannot continue to provide our vital services without the public’s incredible generosity."
