Millions of euro worth of cocaine has been found in the UK as part of an investigation involving three men arrested at Waterford Airport last week.
WLR News reported previously that the two Swedish men and a Lithuanian man were arrested immediately after they landed on Wednesday last.
European arrest warrants had been issued as part of an international drugs trafficking investigation.
Gardaí have now confirmed that 50 kilos of cocaine - worth €3.5 million - were found in the UK, where their plane had landed before coming to Waterford.
€9,000 in cash and a number of mobile phones were also seized when the plane was searched.
The men appeared in the High Court in relation to those European Arrest Warrants on Monday and are due back again on the 11th of March.
The plane is still being held by Gardaí.
