Residents are concerned about safety on a busy Tramore road.
That's the message from local Councillor Lola O'Sullivan, who was speaking of the new Strand Hill development in the town.
The new housing estate was constructed adjacent to an already existing route serving the Racecourse, with parking spaces located next to the road.
Speaking to WLR News, Cllr. O'Sullivan raised her concerns.
"From a traffic point of view, the parking spaces are out beside the road, and there would be huge concern by a lot of residents living in and around the area that when people are getting in and out of their car, they swing the car door open.
"A child could get out of the car and go under a car on the road because the division between the road and where the cars park is very limited.
"The other concern is when you are driving up, the fear is that somebody will open their door unannounced, and a car will come behind them.
"There was talk, but it was more rumored talk than actual talk, of making it a one-way road. I think that is going to have to be seriously considered now."
