Celebrations are continuing for stars of Irish film An Cailín Ciúin following yesterday's Oscar nod.
The Irish language film is nominated in the Best International Feature category.
Speaking on Déise Today, Waterford actress Carrie Crowley says they have done the unimaginable.
"We literally all leapt to our feet and hollered," she said.
Reflecting on the Oscar nomination, Carrie says the scarcity of scenes makes the film something special.
She shared that the first day she read the script she couldn't stop crying because of how much it moved her.
She says that Director Colm Bairéad shot a lot more scenes than those that made the final cut.
"He had the confidence and the wisdom to just pair it right back so that people were in the scene," Carrie said.
Speaking of confidence, Carrie says that people that she didn't know could speak Irish are now addressing her as Gaeilge.
Despite the film being in Irish, it was not a barrier to anyone watching the film.
